Contending for your Faith
I Peter 1:13 – Therefore gird up the lions of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
There is a battle going on today in hidden area of our minds. This area is not exposed to man’s visibilities or the devil’s. However, it deals will the subliminal parts of our minds. Where the enemy try to impart suggestive elements in the believer’s life. We have made a conscious decision to contend for our faith.
Contend–to strives or vies in contest or rivalry or against difficulties
Prepare your minds for action, as we would say, “fasten your seat belts” or “roll up your sleeves.” Peter asks us to prepare for vigorous and sustained spiritual exertion, which is the way that we set our “hope fully on the grace that will be brought at the (final) revelation of Jesus Christ. Everything that we do now is for the appearance of our Lord. The enemy’s whole plan is to hinder us from striving for perfection in faith.
I Peter 4:12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you.
Many people think this is a cake walk we have to put the time in to win all the battles placed before us. Guard yourself against the attacks of the devil. After all he has been around longer than we have; through Christ we have a way of escape. The blood of Jesus has done it all for us, we should rejoice continuously over the victory at Calvary. We must contend for our faith the same way the prophets and saints of old fought. I believe it is time out for playing with such a precious gift as Salvation. The gift given to His children that equips us to fight and withstand the wiles of the devil. The Bible makes it clear that we must contend for our faith. Having the same mind as Christ when we live for Jesus our faith is released and victory is always near. The Bible is the best book ever written, still a #1 best seller. Release your faith and live for Jesus, now is the acceptable time.
